Janet was educated at the West Surrey College of Art and Design and the Slade College of Art, and has taught at a number of colleges including the Ruskin School of Drawing in Oxford.
Her work springs from the the artistic and mythological traditions of our past, where these influences surface and mingle with her fascination for the human figure to produce a synthesis of contemporary and traditional art.
Her studies of figures in motion show their attempt to escape from earthly confines: released from the shackles they are delivered into an ethereal land, where the figures dance and fly to the tune of the wind.
