Julian Williams left his family's fruit farm in Wales to study marine biology at Bangor University but, on gaining his degree, promptly left to study sculpture and drawing at the Sir John Cass College, London; returning there in 1981 to study etching and printmaking. Julian tends to prefer lint drawings and the use of aquatints and black ink on white, which gives his work its unique appearance. These images are strictly limited edition. His most popular images are 'Pissed as a Newt' (the plate of which was lost !) and anything to do with mice getting revenge on the all powerful cats. Recent work has moved into colour with mice still very popular and fairies appearing everywhere. Many examples of his work can be found as cards in the Greetings Cards Gallery.
